Watch Ben Bayly travel the country in search of inspiration and delicious ingredients for the Ahi kitchen in the new season of the TV series, A New Zealand Food Story strives to find the best, freshest New Zealand produce, meats and cutting edge food technology

Ahi - Auckland

Ben’s Flagship Restaurant

We created the Ahi. menu to celebrate authentic New Zealand food: fresh organic produce and ingredients with complex, intense flavours, grown by New Zealanders embracing regenerative agriculture. Our wine list has been carefully curated by Lucile and the team to offer a true representation of New Zealand’s unique wine regions and styles.

Aosta - Arrowtown

Northern Italy meets Central Otago meets fine dining

For us the French are the originators of fine cuisine. They’ve served Kings and Queens, opened the first restaurants, turned cooks into chefs and taken the idea of eating to live, to one of living to eat.

So we’ve gone back to our roots and created a modern French brasserie that meets phenomenal New Zealand produce and laidback service – to bring you an entirely unique French Kiwi dining experience.

Origine - Auckland

French cuisine, using the finest NZ ingredients

Born and raised in the farming community of Te Awamutu in the Waikato was where Ben Bayly, fell in love with food. Ben embarked on almost a decade of culinary discovery, working at famed restaurants and hotels with world class chefs across the globe,

The Bathhouse - Queenstown

Fit for a King, With food that harks to Great British nostalgia

Built in 1911 on Wakatipu Beach, Queenstown. The Beautiful Coronation Bathhouse was commissioned to celebrate the Coronation of King Edward V and as a place for early Queenstown settlers to change before a dip in the freezing lake! In 2022 Ben Bayly, along with great friend and business partner Vicki Onions and executive chef Steven Stepsy fully renovated the rundown Bathhouse to her former glory.

Little Aosta - Arrowtown

Pizza, meatballs & Spritz cocktails in the heart of Arrowtown

Tucked in behind Aosta is its little sibling! Little Aosta (affectionately known as LA to locals) is Ben’s family restaurant serving delicious Nonna’s style Italian cuisine in a casual environment. Known for food from its wood fired pizzas and meatballs, charcoaled grilled meats and simple yet tasty pasta.
